Northland District Health Board has licensed SPM Property to support its asset management planning operations across its diverse portfolio of buildings.
The DHB is the funder, planner and a key provider of health and disability services for the population of Te Tai Tokerau (Northland) covering four hospital sites in Whangarei; Bay of Islands; Dargaville and Kaitaia and serving a population of 148,500.
SPM Property was originally used in late 2007 as part of a consulting project to analyse condition information in order to prepare an asset management plan. By progressing to a perpetual licence, the DHB will now be able to use the full suite of functions as the next stage in determining a building maintenance programme.
Commenting on the announcement, Roger Jameson, SPM General Manager, Sales and Marketing said, “This contract illustrates the total overall value and unique blend of SPM’s consultancy services and software applications when used together.
In the pilot project carried out in late 2007, an asset management planning framework was established based on a sample of Northland DHB’s building assets, with the software being used to generate the required levels of analysis and recommendations for inclusion in the initial report. In moving forward with SPM Property, Northland DHB will have a thorough knowledge of its current asset base at a detailed level in order to understand and determine what is needed in the future and to effectively forecast when assets renewals will be required.
Northland is the second New Zealand District Health Board to license the software, following on from Waikato District Health Board in May 2008, and we look forward to a long and successful relationship with them.” |
