Shellharbour City Council has awarded SPM the Contract for ‘condition & compliance assessment of aquatic facilities’.

The project includes undertaking an assessment of four aquatic facilities considering both the structural integrity of components and compliance of specific areas.  The facilities include an Ocean fed pool, two unheated outside pools and one heated outside pool.

SPM is using the SPM Assets software application in combination with the IPWEA/NAMS Practice Note 3 guidelines to both assess the facilities and to analyse the data to produce results including planned maintenance schedules and lifecycle replacement models. SPM is using aquatic facility specialists to identify and address performance issues and to find operational improvements to be more sustainable considering a 20 year planning period.

Steve Lyons is leading the project from SPM’s Sydney office – the project further builds on SPM’s experience with special recreation and leisure facilities managed by local government organisations.
