Whakatane District Council selects SPM and Ignite Building Consultants |
|
Whakatane District Council (WDC) has selected a joint bid between SPM and Ignite Building Consultants (IBC) to undertake condition and performance assessments of its Property, Ports and Parks & Recreation assets.
The project, to be completed throughout February and March, involves the resurvey of all existing assets in WDC’s SPM Assets database. SPM Mobile, a mobile application that runs on iPads and links directly to SPM Assets, will be used to collect and update asset data within WDC’s database in near real time. In addition to updating WDC’s existing asset data, the project will utilise functionality within SPM Mobile and SPM Assets to record the spatial location of buildings and components such as harbour beacons and park benches.
This project represents the beginning of an Alliance between SPM and IBC that utilises SPM’s expert asset management systems, processes and knowledge in combination with IBC’s property surveying expertise and nationwide network of surveyors. IBC will be completing the assessments using the SPM systems and approach to provide WDC the information they need to inform their capital planning process in a cost effective manner.
